The Saga Continues...

Yesterday I was supposed to really fly to Paris for real, second attempt after the Friday disaster.   Still with American Airlines, or shall I say, Asshole Airlines.  Got to the airport 2 hours early for our flight from Denver to Chicago, which was a half hour late.  Then we were supposed to have a 4 hour layover in Chicago, which is already long and also longer than the original layover was supposed to be.  So, we kill time walking around the airport, get to our gate, watch some stuff on the computer and finally it's getting close to our flight time.  Then the delays started.  For a few hours they kept delaying us by 15 mins to 30 mins at a time.  I had singed up to have them call me with updates, and I was getting called every couple of minutes.  They told us that maintanance was on the plane checking it out.  Then they told us everything was ok and we were going to board soon.  Then they told us that we had a new "safe" plane and needed to go to another gate for boarding.  We then waited forever at that gate.  Our flight was supposed to leave at 5:30pm, we went to the other gate at 8pm and didn't end up starting boarding till 10pm.  Then we take off at around 11pm, just to find out once we've gone ~30 mins or so that something is wrong with this (so called "safe") plane and we are going back to Chicago.  At this point I was starving to death because rather than spend my hard earned $ on food just to be fed more on the plane, I had been spending it on drinks, which helped the pain much more.  We were given (in a most unorganized and slow fashion) vouchers for hotel rooms, breakfast ($5, so, like, coffee) and "dinner" ($10).  We took shuttles to the hotels and I was in my room at about 2am.

This is a fucking nightmare.  I am so upset and they are so useless.  I really hope that no one I know has to ever go through this.  Please do not fly with American Airlines.  Tell all your friends and family.  Even when they look to be the cheapest airline for your trip, it's not worth it.  Your time is worth more.  Just fly with Southwest.  I don't know who to recommend for international travel, but not AA or United.
