Well, in the end David and I didn't go on our trip, in fact I didn't see David at all. He went downstairs to look at the damage done to his neighbour's ceiling from the flooding. While he was there a section of the ceiling fell down, and a bit of it hit him on the head. He told me he didn't feel like driving any distance after that. So that was fair enough. He then proceeded to phone me thoughout the day with updates, which included driving the disabled man downstairs and his carer here there and everywhere (including taking the carer to the shops to buy a packet of ciggies) thoughout the day.
They eventually got someone out to look at the ceiling. No structual damage, but he replaced the plasterboard on the ceiling, and left quite a mess as he maintained that it was not part of his contract to do the cleaning up.
David is supposed to come over today, but we will see, as he seems to be dancing attendance to them still. On top of that, one of the people in these flats had a party last night, and there was quite a bit of noise coming from the others thoughout the day. Not really a problem as I was so tired that I slept anyway.
Not one of the best days I guess.
And David's sister told David off for messing me about, so now he feels guilty about that, but not enough to make a firm commitment to come over here today. Still on standby to run around after the neighbours. He says the carers are ok, but I hope they don't take advantage of him. He can be a little nieve at times.
david,
