Yesterday I received my Jewish Study Bible and How to Read the Jewish Bible by Marc Zvi BrettlerThey're sort of meant to go together. I stopped by the local used book store after the gym today, and scored a paperback copy of Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall's translation of the Qur'an. For $3. This is one of two translations recommended to me over Yusuf Ali's.

The local used book store has a copy of Homi K. Bhabha's The Location of Culture for sale. I'm tempted to buy it, but I don't know why. I discovered today that a new Salman Rushdie novel (The Enchantress of Florence) had been released on my birthday. So, of course, I had to get it. I'm still behind on my Rushdie reading.
