I Love People Listening
Dialogue makes me one happy girl. People Listening can be even better than people watching.
One girl at work has a boyfriend who is your typical guy-guy jock. After another girl was chit chatting with potential love interests and talking about their favorite features, she decided to ask her boyfriend what he thought her best feature was. His first response was "Your niceness." Expansive vocabulary buddy... She told him she meant her best physical feature. So he tried again with "Your head." Folks, we have a winrar!
And then there's one from a family who was sitting across from me at Eat N Park when I went there for some studying. There was a Mom, a Dad, a little girl and a little boy.
Mom: See, there is a fine line between what Mommy and Daddy will let you do. I don't mind you playing video games. That is fine, but there are some you cannot play until you are out of the house. Then you will have your own place and you can buy them with your own money, and you can get whatever brain-sucking game you want. Just not in my house."
Little girl: You can play in my room, then!
Mom: Uh-huh....
Little boy: One time I was over Jessie's house and we were playing this game where you shoot each other. I shot some guy in the head and his head blew up!
Mom: And that's why you're not allowed over Jessie's house anymore.
*snort* While I have no room to debate the morality of video games, the script here was just too perfect. I had to write it down.
