What an awesome bday this year!

First of all:

And BIG, HUGE, GINORMOUS "THANK YOU" to everyone who sent me birthday wishes yesterday. You have no idea how loved you guys made me feel when I read your messages. You guys are all awesome! *smishes you all tight*

My birthday was really fun. My mom gave my sister and I money to go to my favorite restaurant for breakfast. I got an awesome omelette and the waitress put a candle in my blueberry muffin and sang "Happy Birthday". Then Big Sis went to work and I babysat my niece. My parents went out to a casino (part of why my mom paid for us to go to breakfast, I think, is that she felt bad about dad wanting to go out on my bday rather than wait for next week. But really, getting the house mostly to myself was really a present, in my opinion). Bestie and her boyfriend came over around, IDK, 5 or something. He grilled some burgers for dinner and we all watched "We're Back". I jumped up and down when bestie told me she brought it over. I'd just told my younger sister a few days ago how much I wanted to watch that movie again (we only own it on LaserDisc, so I can't just pop it in anytime), so it was really awesome timing.

Then everyone got home (the only dark spot on the day was my younger sister. She acted like it was so annoying to have to be at my birthday and wait for the whole 15 minutes for my ice cream cake to thaw before we could do candles and presents. And she kept making really mean comments about my bestie just loud enough to antagonize us) and we had my Oreo ice cream cake.

Bestie made me an awesome card:

I was really excited about it. We had this whole conversation at Comic Con with me moaning that I'd probably be a Hufflepuff and she was adamant that, even though I'm crazy shy and scared a lot, I'm still a Gryffindor through and through. hee

I wasn't really expecting much in the way of presents this year. My bday kind of took everybody by surprise (my parents thought it was on Sunday, so mom said she was really lucky that she happened across the things she got me by chance or I would have had to wait, LOL). I thought I was getting one thing and I was totally cool with that because I got a cake and decorations and got to go to breakfast and have a breakfast dinner at a restaurant Downtown. ANYWAYS.

My presents are so cool. Big Sis got me an iHome, a little portable speaker for my iPod. I have to lug out my huge karaoke machine every time I want to listen to music while I'm cleaning the house, because it has a cassette player, and I only have a tape adapter. But now I can just connect my iPod to my little speaker and listen to that while I'm doing the dishes. *-* It's so cool.

Then Mom gave me a bag with my presents.

I've wanted a Captain America shirt since the movie first came out, but couldn't ever justify spending so much on a shirt myself. So this is great. :D

And then. AND THEN.

Isn't it so cool? UNF. Now I have a new little thing to add to my table of stuff to show off. (I got the Captain America Shield Launcher for Christmas, so yeah). I love it.

But then, Mom comes out with another present. I'm completely shocked because I thought that the two was it, right? She wasn't able to wrap it, so I had to close my eyes when they brought it out. She passed it to Travis (bestie's bf) and he put it on the table in front of me. (It totally tipped over and smacked my nose while my eyes were closed. It was hilarious).

I opened my eyes and pulled this big thing out of its bag, no idea what it could be.

Then.

IT'S A NUTCRACKER ADVENT CALENDAR FOR CHRISTMAS. I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED AN ADVENT CALENDAR. I SAY IT EVERY YEAR WHEN I SEE THEM IN THE STORES BUT I NEVER BUY ONE. AND IT'S NUTCRACKERS.

A bit of backstory. I collect nutcrackers. I have four regular Christmas ones. I have one that's a Wolfman (it was a bday present last year). I have a Sherlock Holmes one, a pirate one. A calendar one, with the days for the month. And I have two bigger ones (a golf one with the year "07" on it and the other is a normal one, just bigger than my others). I have a little set in a box of them, they're all smaller than my hand, and I think there are 20 in the case. Then my parents have two BIG ones (they reach to just below my chest) that guard the fireplace all year round. They've told me that whenever I move out, I get to take those with me. THAT IS HOW MUCH I LOVE NUTCRACKERS. I LOVE THEM. AND I LOVE ADVENT CALENDARS. THIS PRESENT COMBINES TWO OF MY GREAT LOVES. *dances*

Then my younger sister left. My parents went to bed, as well as my niece and Big Sis. Bestie and Travis and I stayed up and watched "Three Musketeers" because I love it and bestie hadn't seen it yet. I asked her to braid my hair (I adore having my hair played with and brushed and braided and yes) and she did this really cool kind of fish tail thing or something where it curved inwards. It was pretty and took over an hour to finish (my hair is a little long and a lot uncooperative). Then when that movie was over, they said we could watch "Thor" or "Captain America" because they know how much I love those movies. I chose Cap, obvs, and we watched that.

Bestie told me that she thinks, if I were an animal, I'd be a wolf. Because she thinks I'd be fluffy and she knows that I can be vicious when I decide I don't want to take anymore crap. And I'm loyal. I felt pretty awesome when she told me that, 'cause I'm a total werewolf at heart.

Then it was, like, after 3 in the morning and time for them to go because I had to get up early-ish for my bday "dinner" (which was really lunch because we went before my younger sister had to go to work today).

In conclusion, this birthday ROCKS.

Aaaaaand. We might watch the two "Thing" movies tonight if we can get the theater room from my parents (or convince them to watch with us).

rl, birthday, friends = awesome, thanks
