OK, Just spent several hours troubleshooting something rather obscure.

Symptom:
Closing an application I use a lot (Turnpike) I suddenly started getting a dialog box with title "SmartHeap" and error message "MEM_BAD_POINTER". AT first I didn't hink of what might have changed that could cause this... apart from the new CPU.
