Practice -
So, today bit hard. And a lot. At first, that is. Let me explain.
So, my coworker, the only other day driver at Domino's, was not up for, I dunno, working. He has a paper route that drains him of all his sleep, so I can understand that he is really really tired, but I also know that he doesn't work like that.
Meaning, I end up doing the prep. Which is fine, there isn't a lot to be done, just annoying. He gets sent home about 2 ish when it's horribly dead in the store. I guess that makes sense, because he was quite too tired to work anyway, and probably not too safe driving and so forth.
But then my car starts acting up. Doing what it does when it hates me. So, it's really difficult for me to do *any* sort of driving (think: imagine driving a clutch that won't idle and has bad gears. Edit: by the way, I don't drive a clutch, so that should give you an idea of how bad it was). I go on about 3 or 4 runs like that. During the last of that, the "low battery" light decides to flip on and off every so often to boot. Which really really worries me, though thankfully it's mostly when I'm sitting there, and not when I'm actually driving forward. But, I tell my bosses that I don't think I can do deliveries anymore today, and they send me home.
Thankfully. O yeah, and the *whole* day, my car is constantly boiling, since I'm afraid of overheating the engine by running the air conditioning. So, I basically use the windows to try to cool down the car (which bites, because it's not really working). Also, you wouldn't think about it too much, but the heat bags we use at work really do heat up the inside of the car, on top of the greenhouse effect from the sun.
But I get home without major event - which is a very good thing.
I call up Cortney, and we go out for a smoothie together, and go on a walk together. It was very nice, since I haven't had a lot of time to spend with her since our formal engagement. So, day is looking up compared to earlier.
Then I have a practice with Erin at my house. We work on her bass stuff a bit, and her vocals, especially for Hero's Pyre and Dorian. Both have come quite a bit, I think, even since the beginning of practice. I'm actually rather encouraged by this. We'll see what else happens.
But yes. Much better day *now*. Church tomorrow morning, so I need sleep. Goodnight.
