I. Hate. Being. At. School.
No, this isn't an emo-y whining post. Just an expression of annoyance. I've been too busy to do much of anything, except on the weekends. When I think I'm going to have free time, something else comes up. I've lost a book I need to complete one of my remaining five papers, and the speech on the same topic is due tomorrow.
The reason I bring these things up is that my busy-ness is also what accounts for my lack of Live Journal posts. That, and my lack of having an interesting life here at school.
Some noteworthy things have occurred, though. Bobbie and I were talking about what we plan to do after we graduate, and every time such a conversation comes up, we realize all over again how uncertain we both are. I've been considering teaching again for the first time in a while. Aside from loving the study of literature, writing, history, and theology, I see, even here at college, kids with a lot of problems. I think there's a chance that as a teacher, I could do some good that I couldn't do as a fellow student back in high school. Plus, it would give me summers off and provides a good opportunity to have a job I may actually enjoy and stay in the Erie area.
Also involving Bobbie and I, as a side note, we went to a twenties themed dance recently. It sucked ass; they played shitty rap music. There were two Louis Armstrong tunes, and after that the best song they played was "Snakes on a Plane" by Cobra Starship. However, I won a pretty nifty boxed set of old gangster movies in a raffle. If you're reading this, Chad, I'd love to spend a day or a night watching them all back to back.
Classes really are winding down, though, and despite some anxiety, my grades are pretty solid, for the most part, and I shouldn't flip shit.
A recommendation: last night I attended a screening here on campus of a hilarious mocumentary about Celebration III, the recent Star Wars convention, called A Great Disturbance. It's utterly hilarious, and you'll find it funny, I think, even if you dislike Star Wars (which I don't think applies to anyone reading this, anyway). I'm going to order the DVD from their website, so once I get it, I encourage everyone to check it out.
Finals are coming up in a few weeks, and boy, will I be ready to come home. I've missed all of you like you wouldn't believe, and I'd really like to organize some sort of get together for all of us once we're all out of school. I'd love it to be a Hibachi trip, but I still don't have the kind of cash to pay for everyone (or any cash). I'd like to do something special to open the summer, though, so if you've got any ideas, toss them my way.
I'll try to stay in touch more for the remainder of my time here at school, and maybe make updates over the summer this time. No promises, though.
Until we meet again, may the Force be with you, and may the Power protect you!
