Sweetie's having a tough time right now.
There's surface pain, and not where the cuts were. When we went to the doctor, we were reminded that the tubes and such from surgery were not all in places where the cuts were, and there might be a little scarring or whatnot in there, healing. We were also reminded that nerves don't heal neatly all where they were cut.
Doctor's right, of course, but Sweetie isn't the sort of person who deals well with long-term illness. When she gets sick she wants to spend a couple of days in bed, but after that she expects to be well enough to go to work and mistreat her body like she's used to. Right now she can't bend without pain, and she gets tired too quick for her tastes.
My only consolation for this is the older she gets, the more problems she has, and the keener her interest in exercise and staying in shape so this stuff doesn't bug her as much when it happens. I just look forward to a time when she and I walk together regularly, perhaps nightly. I just worry that won't happen until she retires, since her long commute effectively takes away half her day with transportation issues and all.
It sucks, but it's slowly improving.
