I checked my application status for the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA). Online it says "decision: Admit Clear." I assume this means I am admitted. I have not received anything the mail yet but if some decision has been made I guess I'll get something this week.

I've got all of my financial aid business under control. I hate the FAFSA, taxes, and "verification worksheets." Its all a very big annoying part of a necessary process. But I'm glad I finally have it all done (hopefully).

Also, a few of Al's friends wives have mentioned a new program they have going on where the Army will pay for a significant portion of spouses' tuition. So that's something I'll have to look into very soon. If that were to fall through, I still have no major concerns about costs because UAA is less than 6,000 for a whole year of full time study. Luckily, because I am married to an active duty soldier I qualify for resident's tuition...otherwise it would be more than triple that. I applied for financial aid at UAA in 2008 just for fun and they gave me 27,000 dollars. That was as an out of state student. So it seems like they are pretty generous with their financial aid awards. I also qualify for PA state grants since I'm a resident of PA. Overall it seems like this won't be a huge financial fiasco. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

I refuse to get a job until Al gets my car shipped. I kind of want a job. It'd be nice to pull in some extra money for savings, but I'm not doing shit until I have my car. I like this ultimatum because it secures my lazy lifestyle without making me feel guilty for "not contributing." But Anchorage isn't like Philadelphia where I can just hop on a bus and go to work. I'd have to get off Fort Richardson first and walk a few miles into the city to catch the nearest bus. And I can't commit to a schedule sharing a car with Al because his schedule is constantly changing last minute. So, until arrangements are made for my vehicle to ship...I'll vacuum.
