The Boy with Horns

It's a game called Ico, that strongly reminded me of Shadow of the Colossus, a bit reminescent of Myst, and a little bit like Legend of Zelda. You play Ico, a boy who must help a princess escape from an ancient, crumbling fortress. In order to do this, you must solve environment puzzles, using things like chains, boxes, ladders, torches, and bombs to escape. You also have the princess to deal with. Since she isn't as athletic as you, she can't climb chains or jump up to high ledges, so you have to find a way to help her across. If you leave her alone too long, the dark spirits haunting the city will capture her and drag her into the spirit portal. When that happens, it's game over.

The funny thing about this game was that my parents and my brother were watching over my shoulder, giving me advice. "Jump onto that ledge!" "Help her up!" "Can you throw a brick at the bad guys?" "No, the bricks aren't manipulable objects" "Why don't you jump into the water?" "No, that's not water! That's a big chasm!" "I'm sure it's water" "Why don't you jump down and see?"......

Ico: ......AHHHHHH!...*Game Over*

"Oh, so it WAS a big pit after all!"

............................

"Uh, you saved it, right?"
