As per request, I present: Pirates of the Caribbean!
1. The first character I fell in love with:
Jack. Very original, I know, but I thought he was just a fun, crazy character.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:
Elizabeth. At first it seemed she had no purpose but to be the love interest and damsel in distress, but she turned out to be a cool character who could hold her own against the other pirates.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't:
While I don’t really hate any character, I don’t have quite the same obsession with Will or Jack that some people do.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates:
Did I already mention Elizabeth? I know a lot of fans don’t like her, whether it’s because they think she’s annoying, or a Mary Sue, or plays with Will’s feelings, or what, but actually, she’s one of the few female characters in fiction I actually like.
5. The character I would shag snuggle anytime:
Jack the monkey!
6. The character I'd want to be like:
This may sound so weird, but…Governer Swann? He knows the importance of following rules, but he learns when rules need to be broken because other things are more important. I also like how much he’s willing to do for Elizabeth.
7. The character I'd slap:
One of those two girls who hang around Jack (Scarlett and Giselle) and slap him all the time. Partly to see if they slap back, and partly to show them what it feels like to be slapped.
8. A pairing that I love:
Will/Elizabeth all the way!
9. A pairing that I despise:
Apparently, there’s some people who like to pair Pintel and Ragetti. That’s just wrong, people, just wrong.
10. Favorite character:
Ragetti! He’s funny, pretty cute (to me at least; I like the tall skinny ones :D), and I love his random bright moments. Where does he pick up words like “dichotomy” and “cephalopod” anyway?
11. What are your five favorite things about your fandom?
1. There’s no lack of good fic writers or artists. Some of the stuff they come up with is hilarious!
2. Legolas/Will Turner crossovers XD
3. A good selection of cute guys to admire.
4. The music. My sister actually had a parade routine to the tune of “He’s a Pirate”.
5. The movies manage to mix historical with fantastical to great effect.
12. What are your five least favorite things about your fandom?
1. How crazy-obsessed some fans can be about Jack/Will, or, more acurately, Depp and Orlando. As someone who prefers to concentrate on the characters rather than the actors, I find this a bit creepy…
2. The twisted minds of some fans and their shounen-ai pairings.
3. The large number of Mary Sue OCs.
4. Unlike FF, they don’t make Omega guides…
5. Not enough girl characters.
13. Who are your five favorite characters?
Ragetti, Barobossa, Elizabeth, Jack, Will.
14. Who are your five least favorite characters?
Sao Feng, Mercer, Scarlett, Giselle, Bosun.
15. What are your five favorite pairings?
Will/Elizabeth. I also liked the thought of Davy and Calypso having been lovers. Hmm…three more. I don’t mind a tiny bit of Jack/Elizabeth, as long as it’s done right. Jack and Tia Dalma can be alright. I also like the occasional fic where Norrington is pining after Elizabeth (I think had it not been for Will, Elizabeth might have been willing to give him a chance, especially near the end of the series when he’s less of a jerk.)
16. What are your five least favorite pairings?
Will/Jack, Pintel/Ragetti (yuck!), Jack with 13-year old OC, Jack with 15-year old OC, and, let's see...Oh, I think I saw a pairing once with Norrington and Will. I will never understand how people comes up with these.
17. Which character are you most like?
Probably Will, at least, the way he is at the start. He generally plays by the rules, but gets upset when someone he cares about is in trouble and no one seems to care. He also has a hard time admitting he has a crush on someone, at least, to their face.
18. What is your deep, dark fandom secret?
Back when the first movie came out, I slipped out a few times at night when the moon was out to see if I’d turn into a skeleton.
