N Recent Things
(1) I'm going to backdate Bursting Day 2015 to Saturday, April 25. This is two days later than last year.
(2) Spent Sunday and Monday in Ohio with E, looking at Miami University and University of Cincinnati. Both were lovely. I'm still trying to steer her toward smaller and/or closer to home, but, really, she's driving this bus.
On the Miami tour, all the kids were asked where they were from, etc. After E said she was from near Boston, one of the dads spent the next few minutes expounding to his family about the Boston college scene and wondering why anyone would ever want to leave. A year ago, this would have really thrown E; we just walked ahead of him and tried not to crack up. E's particular resume aside (she feels like she grew up bouncing between several campuses, given C's job, the summer program she did for years, various events, being a research test subject, etc.), he's never heard of going away to college, for the sake of going AWAY???
(3) Soccer season is now humming along. More bizarreness than usual; yesterday's was, a ref (who did have cause for being irked at one of our teams - long story, it's being dealt with) went through the rosters of all of our travel teams looking for underage players, which she then reported to the league. (A) Underage is okay, given certain rules, but (B) she was using the wrong age ranges, afawct!
