Some GREAT stuff

This brilliant Tuesday, with the sun shining on Low Steps, free coffee (Oren's 'Blend 44,' in honor of the occasion) in hand/tummy, the world's least capable closed captioner on duty, and the world's least capable leader on his way out...
We gotsa new presidentttttt!!!!!!  My favorite parts of a really superb speech:

I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors.

Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America - they will be met. On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.

This is the meaning of our liberty and our creed - why men and women and children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent mall, and why a man whose father less than sixty years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath.

Of course, actions speak louder than words, President Obama. So let's do the damn thang!

And Rev. Lowery outshines e'rbody:
Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back,
when brown can stick around,
when yellow will be mellow,
when the red man can get ahead, man;
and when white will embrace what is right.
That all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen.

And some shitty stuff:
My clock--the crown jewel of our teensy New York pad--was smashed and trashed while I was in Buffalo.  Apparently the maple-syrup-chugger hates AWESOME.

Stopped into Milano today to grab lunch with the ladiez, riding high on Americalove, and ended up paying $10 for the same (except superior) sandwich I would get at Guercio's for $3.75. Quel killjoy.
