Why the heck is Sara so damn popular??

So, I'm cruising through ff.net and 9 out of 10 stories seem to be either Sara or GSR centric. And if you go to any of the CSI fan sites with message boards, there's all these fangirls gushing and squeeing about Sara. Even if the fan doesn't always like the GSR, they seem to adore Sara.

*g* sara got the alpha-male and she's not particularly pretty. I guess they identify with her. I say she was bearabe when she worked with Nick or Warrick, but with Grisom? She stank to high heaven. GE carried her through many a scene. Lately, as she's only interacted with Griss and Greg, she comes across as flat and the entire romance is laughable. They can't even act it, her and Greg had more sparkles in the beginning of the show! When she worked with Rick all her ugliness shone through. I kinda liked that, the fact that she showed her true colors. She was all but nice, she was one of those I want to whack over the head.

Hey, I need to latch on to a character too, I think it's fairly common. It's not enough that s/he's hot though, s/he needs to come across as real. Even a female character will do, if she's written good, most females aren't. Georg(ia) in Dead Like Me was wonderful and she was the reason I watched and still love the series.

Sara is a hit or miss if you ask me. I'd say I kind of "liked" her early on because I *didn't* like her. While Nick and the others needed some lessons here and there about how to do their job, she learned both those lessons, and well... life lessons to an extent- at least she would have if she'd listened to Nick and some of the others around her. That make sense? I never really liked her character, but with others, like Catherine, Warrick, and especially Nick- I enjoyed the interaction ( ... )
