Daily Goodie! May 23rd
And yet another drabble for you gals, this time I tried to follow a theme although it´s basically a collection of 4 mini stories. I´m sure you can figure out what theme it is :P Under cut due to length, enjoy!
Drabble, Gen, WL US, 4 - Richard S, Colin, Laura, Karen (300)
In a way, she had been the American female performer to help the move to USA with the last UK season. It had been a difficult task as the Brits had had several strong female performers the audiences loved while finding a great American improviser was proving more difficult. Years later she knew the opinion of the fans but in a small corner of her heart, she hoped she hadn´t been one of the hated US women.
She might not have joined any of the games centre stage but even so, she had been a vital part of the show and probably one of the few if not only female the viewers liked once it moved to USA. She wasn´t as much in the spotlight but as that fatal game of Song Styles showed, if she screwed up, it was very noticeable. And so, she strived for perfection as much as any other performer, even if she remained on the sidelines.
For Colin, it almost came naturally to count himself into the female category of performers. Back in UK there were plenty of women to play off of but in USA there was only a handful so whenever they didn´t have them for a taping, he had to take the role upon himself turning it into a running joke. Oh how he missed the women.
He knew he had been a bit of a joke on the show even before he appeared but he was aware of the image he had and years ago he had accepted and embraced it. He knew who he was and how to play it up to make the crowd go ballistics and if there was one thing comedians could appreciate, it was self deprecation. He´d show them just how girly flirty he could be!
