Mwuhahahahhah I just had a fun moment at work.
So my boss, the guy, the one who's my boss for 3 1/3 more days... comes into my office and is like "Jon how are the programs going." I say "Oh fine but they won't be as good as the last since I'm really rushed and I also have to do these graphics for the Dean video." He counters with "Oh ok, well I need you to come with me on a shoot Thursday afternoon." Mind you he says this knowing full well how busy I am.
Luckily I had not one but two concrete appointments already preset for Thursday afternoon so I say "I'm sorry Bill but I can't do it. I have Derek coming in to train Thursday at 1:00 and before that I have the school internet guy coming in to double check the web ability of the video."
So Bill says "oh well Derek can come with us." Well 'Derek' has to have a basic understanding of what he needs to do when he comes in and I have 4 hours to tell him, and that alone is a huge burden on my time for getting everything done.
So I basically said, straightup to my boss, no. I said no I'm not gonna let you saunter in here knowing full well how busy I am and try to tell me about a shoot that I'm 'needed' for with only two days notice. To also back me up, I know that he could EASILY have editied one or two of these programs for me instead of reading USA Today online all day and going to the aquarium. Yes, I'll admit, I have been lazy at my current job but it's really hard not to be when the example set forth before me is one of complete and utter lack of motivation.
So no sir, I'm out of this place in 3 days and I aint dealing with this crap anymore.
