So I figure now that I have internet access at work I should be writing more sprawling, daily entries in the form of Ira Gamerman instead of my sheepish once a month posts. We'll see.
So I went to Vegas last week. It was a lot of fun (you can smoke EVERYWHERE!) I didn't win any money but I had a blast playing $1 Blackjack tables and getting drinks for free. I saw a few shows, and did my best to avoid the 105 degree temperature.
So I started this new job. And it is awesome. Except for the fact that it's only guaranteed for three months and the fact that I have two bosses who both tell me to do two totally different projects at the same time and then get upset when I have to prioritize one of them over the other. Susan, my one boss, is awesome and great to get along with. Bill, my other boss, is kind of a huge snobbish jerk who seems to still have his 1999 oscar from king gimp firmly up you know where. It's cool to say I work with Oscar award winning filmmakers, but it kinda sucks that they know nothing about computers and basically expect me to be god for them every day.
On the other hand, I had lunch with a headhunter on wednesday who is currently looking to hire a posistion as a video tech at MICA. It's a fulltime job with benefits, and is close to where i live. Downside, it's not very creative and I'll basically be telling snobby mica kids how to work a 16mm camera while they laugh at me for going to film school at Towson. Hopefully they'll offer me the job so I can either take it or force my current employers to bring me on full time and pay me more than MICA.
Music wise, I still, as usual, can't stop listening to Lucero. Also Cory Branan is amazing. He's a singer/songwriter and I picked up his first album "The Hell You Say" and I'm in love.
Lucero June 28th, be there.
wow, definatly a longer entry than usual. Ira had better watch his back.
