The Giants come to town
alrite, so saturday myself, and my friends paul, jon, and lauren all went to the Orioles - Giants game. the plan was to go to the 3:30 game at camden yards, but when we got there it was sold out! Thank god they were playing a double header and we got tickets to the 8:30 game. ok, so at this moment it is 3:00 and we're in baltimore, and we have five hours to kill. so we decide the inner harbor is our best bet, and we end up getting lunch/dinner at hooters.
after the hooters we tried to sneak into the science museum. apparently learning isnt free in baltimore and you have to buy tickets to see anything cool and educational. so the security guard kicked us out and we ended up walking around, shopping, ect. for awhile. it was about 6:00 now and all of us wanted to go to a bar. so we start walking back towards camden yards and as we are, we see this sign that says "Edgars Bar + Billiards up the stairs" now this looked really shady as they were out door steps that were attached to the side of an office building or something. so we walk up the stairs, and we end up on the roof of the building. and what better thing to be on the roof of a building then a fucking bar/poolhall!!
so we walk in and as it turns out, we were the only people there. the waitress doesnt card any of us and we get to drinkin. now, as amazing as this bar already was, it got better. i went to go to the bathroom, and on the bathroom wall was a sign saying '1 free hour of pool just show your Orioles tickets'. so we get to play pool on these super nice tables, FOR FREE.
so we play pool, drink beers, leave our waitress a really nice tip, and then walk to the ballpark.
we had to stand outside for awhile b/c they had to get all of the people out of game 1 before they could let us in. so we get to our seats (same place towson crew usually sits for friday night games) and the games begin.
just so we're clear, barry bonds was intentionally walked five times this game. I got to see him take 2 at bats. so i was really pissed. but it was great to see the giants play again and the game was a lot of fun.
overall the day was a blast and now i'm broke until i get paid on friday :)
