So Friday we went out and picked out a kitty (yes, another one) from the Humane Society. Planned to take her home, but there was a paperwork snafu and it turned out she wasn't fixed yet, so we would have to come back later in the weekend.
So, instead, we went up to Kohl's with a coupon and picked out some stuff for everyone. Including some work trousers that actually fit me (The story is: I lost some weight, so all my pants were falling off. Bought new pants. Then, quit smoking and so gained some weight back, ending up with not enough pants to wear to work every day. Sigh - Need to get a job that lets me just wear a kimono everyday). Then to the Pet store to replace the heater on the fish tank and some other supplies.
Saturday, Ms. T needed to get run up to her parents' place for some paperwork, so I loaded up the back of the truck with some of my lumber cut-offs for their burn pile. I still have lots more cluttering up the backyard. Then off to WalMart for more stuff that was needed. Got a new filter for the furnace and one for the vacuum. It's about time for a vacuum overhaul. Good times! Also moved some of the big camping gear off the front porch into some semblance of storage. Everybody needs some nice heavy lifting in 90F weather to brighten up their day.
Sunday, we went for the big-cart grocery shopping event. Cashed in 8% foodperks on a big order of food. I realize it's all a shell-game at the end of the day, but it made me happy anyway. And the house is full of food again.
Later we picked up New Kitty (Juno). Turns out Juno was the one that was happy and content and Ophelia is the kitty that's all bent out of shape about it. I guess it's not surprising. Juno has lived in several fosters and the pound. Ophelia has never encountered a kitty that wasn't one of her litter-mates. Oh well, it's only Day 1. I'm sure it will get better.
Did find time to re-string my mandolin. It was error-strewn and annoying as usual. I don't understand why I have all this difficult with the mando strings. Never had this much trouble with the guitar. Oh, and I definetely need a truss-rod adjustment now, and a fret-job soon.
I failed however to answer the bell for fighter practice on Sunday, or re-start my 100 pushup/200 situp/200 squat program. Just still a bit worn out from the two weeks of Pennsic and then a week of running around taking care of sick people and making dinners and taking Mo to camp and getting the sink fixed and all that. Hopefully an easier week coming up.
