220. I guess I'll go back to numbering posts, although it seems a bit pointless. There doesn't seem to be all that much interest in LJ journals (writing or commentin) at this time. Maybe it's just me. Oh well.
221. Pennsic War this year was pretty nice, except for some camping issues (including enduring a pyramid scheme-like pitch for a new camp. Over cold saki - yechh). I think I'll go again next year.
222. Big news is that I (and also
geofki ) armored up and took to the field of battle this war. It was quite a lot of fun, although a very long, hot, tiring day. It would have been even funner with more endurance, armor that wasn't falling apart, a properly equipped cup, and some fighting skills. Oh well, I guess that's what practice is for. I'm planning on being at the WashBoul this Sunday no matter what the condition of my kit. It can only get better! Much thanks to
morienmacbain and
jvandevander for all the help getting us out there.
223. Pennsic snaps.
http://picasaweb.google.com/Jimsreache/PennsicXXXVIII?feat=directlink There are some good pics of Ms. T on the gun-line at the end.
224. I did not get to build the tap system I wanted, but I did get the main bits overhauled. Unfortunately, we only bought a keg for one night this year, not 4 as has been the case in the past. I did lend the tap out for one Sunday to East Royal for some emergency, so at least it got used twice. (We were kind of hoping that the tap would come back with more beer attached. It didn't, but at least it came back). Still, if I would have known, I probably would have saved all that time and money spent on a new bottle and faucet rebuilds and just brought a hand-pumper.
225. Also at Pennsic this year: Didn't get to play the trumpet fanfare because we mis-timed our entry and hey, who would have thought court would be on time?? But we are planning on trying again. Perhaps next month at coronation in Erie?
Also, a fellow emailed the Med. Consort that he was interested in playing, and would bring his Hurdy-gurdy! That sounds like it could be fun. So, plenty of good things happening in music-land. Just have to carve out more practice time.
226. I'm ready for a few weekends at home without any events to plan for (still a lot of chores, though). But the fall calendar is starting to fill up. Possible trip to Gettysburg (with ghosts) this month on the weekend of the 28th, and also there's a rumor of some camping over the Labor Day weekend.
