CHARACTER SURVEY
Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Rather tall, and very well built. Those abs. *O*
2. How old is he?
19 years old.
3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
When sitting down he's a sloucher, but generally when he walks he seems relaxed and confident, some might say too relaxed and confident.
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Very, very, very, very, very fit. The man fights demons for a living. He has no illnesses, conditions or physical disabilities. He is the very picture of health. Other than killing demons, he doesn't normally do any other exercise. However his time in Death City means he does attend the training in the morning. Strangely enough, his diet hasn't had an impact on his health. Thankfully with the presence of someone to cook for them, his diet should improve now.
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Dante is a man who takes everything in his stride and it shows in the way he handles himself. His steps are slow, not calculating, but of one who has all the time in the world. In battle, his moves are as flashy as possible, he likes to look good while he's kicking ass.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
Dante is undeniably good looking and he knows it.
7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Tanned, with absolutely no scars. His crazy healing ensures no scars remain.
8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
It's a white, silvery colour. There's no particular style, he just lets it flop down, but it's starting to get on the long side. His hair is actually rather soft looking.
9. What color are his eyes?
A rather beautiful shade of blue.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
He has one very drool-worthy body. Isn't that enough?
11. What are his chief tension centers?
Eh?
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
RED. He likes his rock style, with lots of leather. Generally speaking he's too poor to have many clothes so he tends to wear the same things a lot.
13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
Oh, so very well~ He's very comfortable in them.
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
Dresses exactly the same, what you see is what you get.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
I would imagine that it would be rather uncomfortable going commando in leather pants, so I'll say boxers.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Reuben Langdon. Deep with a cocky drawl.
2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
Like a loud and cocky punk. Confident to the point of arrogance. He doesn't speak quickly, he believes his words are important enough that people should make the time to hear it.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
Standard American accent, I don't know American accents well enough to pick a specific area. There's his random shouting of Breakdown! when he's fighting. 'Jackpot' was another verbal tic, but only with Vergil when they were younger.
4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
American English and about as fluent as your average American. Maybe a little less since he's an uneducated idiot.
5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
No, that requires knowledge of other languages/dialects.
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
He never plans ahead so everything is impromptu.
7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Well... he thinks he's eloquent, while everyone else thinks he's being stupid. But he can say some really cool things when the situation calls for it. He has a comeback for almost every situation.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
LOLOLOL 'book-smart'. Only street-smart and sometimes that's debatable.
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
Like I said, he doesn't plan ahead, so he always thinks on his feet.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Intuitive, he's the type of guy who follows his gut instincts. He tends to be idealistic surprisingly. That's hard to see and he appears practical most of the time.
4. What kind of education has the character had?
Likely a normal education up to the age of 8 and then everything went downhill after that, so probably not much of one, other than learning how to fight and survive.
5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
Fighting, who cares about anything else.
6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Such an extrovert.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
He mood swings like there's no tomorrow. When he's calm, he's laid-back and a bit lazy about things, when he's pissed he's really driven to punch people.
8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
Wheeee~!
9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
Act.
10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT. Flight is for wusses.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
He finds humour in anything and everything.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
Narcissism I don't think he has any?
13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
Watching his mother get murdered in front of him. Being estranged from his brother.
14. What does he fear?
Losing Vergil, failing those he cares about.
15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
Honouring his mother's memory, protecting those dear to him, ridding the world of demons.
16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
Exactly how much he really does care about his brother. The details of what happened with his mother.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
His father was absent, but his relationship with his mother was very good.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
One twin brother... estranged is a light way to describe their relationship.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
None. Mother is dead and no one knows what happened to the father.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
Possibly Lady? Their relationship is... complicated to say the least.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Probably Lady again, they met when they were both climbing up Temen-ni-gru.
6. Does he have other close friends?
Not really. I don't think he's met Morrison yet.
7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
His personality is polarising, you either like him or you don't. He also doesn't care whether or not you like him.
8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
...oh that's a hard one, technically family, but he knows Vergil can look after himself so he looks out for his friends more.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
Single, he has proposed to a mop once.
10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
No.
11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
...I have no idea.
12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
TITS, ASS. No really, he has no intention of settling down so he just goes for looks.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
No children, and he thinks it'll probably happen some day, just not right now.
14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
The entire demon race.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
Exclusively heterosexual. Or so he thinks... >D
16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
It's one of the few things that can get him to think. 'nuff said.
17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Turn-offs: topping him, being a trap, being ugly.
Turn-ons: ...pretty much everything else.
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?
No, I don't know.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
Doesn't care about that kind of mumbo jumbo.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
Yes, his mother was killed by demons remember. All demons must die. The only exception to this is if they can prove they're more human like than demonic. Everything is thrown out the window if one of the people he cares about is threatened.
4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
Doesn't care at all. Unless it involves that Sparda religion he finds out about in the future, then he's amused.
5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
Doesn't like demons and yes he has a good reason for it.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Poor and in debt. Permanently.
2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
Normal, working class. Hasn't changed at all.
3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
He lives in his office back in his world, but in an apartment in Death City. It is a pigsty.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
Beer, pizza, tips on strippers.
5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
Freelancer. But in Death City he works for the Watch and gets paid a decent amount. There are some good points to it, but he tends to get bored.
6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
TV or his jukebox or just lazing around. Ideally he'd be on a date.
7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
BEER BEER BEER PIZZA PIZZA PIZZA STRAWBERRY SUNDAE TOMATO JUICE. I think that says it all.
