Thanks for your comment. I really am interested in why other people feel the way they do.
In answer to your first question, I guess I would ask what qualifies anyone for such a job? Just because one hasn't held public office or served in the military doesn't mean they can't translate their life experiences to the office. I trust Donald Trump to be smart enough to surround himself with other smart people who do have governmental experience. As far as being just a businessman, a number of previous presidents had been businessmen. And I disagree that a country can't be run like a business. Perhaps if it were, we wouldn't have a current national debt of nearly twenty trillion dollars.
In answer to your second point, I don't understand how you can say the Republican House has delayed and obstructed. I will remind you that Democrats controlled both houses of congress until 2010. Obama got his signature Obamacare legislation passed without one Republican vote. He got his stimulus package. In fact, he got a total of 43 laws passed in those first two years. And apparently the people decided he needed to put the brakes on because they've elected a Republican House ever since. That's why the founding fathers set up the system this way. It's called checks and balances. Most of the pain my family and business have suffered is because of Obamacare, and the unchecked rules and regulations that this president has put into effect through executive action and departmental rule-making (ie. the EPA). As for the House since 2010, they have passed any number of laws to help veterans and small businesses, but the Democratic Senate either shot them down or refused to even allow them brought to the floor. (Harry Reid anyone?) I don't think the charge of obstructionism can be laid at just the Republicans' feet. And how many times have the Republicans in both houses just rolled over and fallen in line with what Obama wanted because they were afraid of the backlash in the press?
I hope this clarifies somewhat where I'm coming from. I have the feeling we would never agree, but part of the greatness of this country is that we have the right to disagree!
