there's this awkward silence in between them that night, and they both know why.
she hopes the quietness is digging into his soul, pulling out each and every stand of guilt he could ever posses because, ohmyfuckingasdjfkl, he forgot her birthday. he can't really stand the way she looks at him (the way she doesn't look at him), and even though he knows she is beating the living shame out of him, he deserves it.
'hyun,' he tries as he leans over from his small stool to touch her hand which rests on the couch (he winces when he sees her fingers draw away in some hurt movement.)
for the record, her feelings are actually hurt,
and the silence expresses it quite thoroughly.
when he stands and places himself right beside her she turns her head away, 'cut it out.' she doesn't want to glance over and see his face, all puppy like and sincerely sorry. she doesn't want to see it, nor does she want to hear it. 'hyuuuuun,' he lets out this apologetic whine as his arm wraps around her waist, pulling her into him.
'i'm sorry,' she can feel his lips brush against her ear (she doesn't want to acknowledge the sudden shiver down her back and abrupt heat in her throat.) this is why she doesn't get mad at him, because when she does - he knows how to apologize.
it's the kisses that trail down her neck and the hands that trace circles on the small of her back until she finally pushes him away, arms crossed and cheeks flushed. 'yeah, i forgive you,' she whispers and gives him the look (the charismatic one that yonghwa finds unbelievably charming). 'don't do it again.'
(sometimes he likes getting her mad, he likes apologizing. even when he really didn't forget her birthday, and there is this huge ass cake in the fridge that says saranghae, with a batch of sweet potatoes wrapped in a bowl right next to it. )
