i read your entire entry and i found it really interesting. I respect you for coming forth with your rant but you seem so bothered by it. I've seen your shoes and stuff and I think it's totally awesome but I think that you shouldn't take it seriously. I understand collecting shoes is your thing or whatever and that you're bothered that other ppl are getting shoes without knowledge. But when someone walks into Gdft or Da Zone they're just going to get whatever shoes that match their clothes. They don't necessarily need to be a 'shoehead'. It sucks because there is a world of shoe heads then theres the rich people who just buy shoes. But you know Gdft and the other shoes stores didn't open for the exclusive community. It's a store because they know there are buyers. And they're a business not just for exclusive people. Their intentions are to sell to whoever. I think that you shouldn't stop collecting shoes but just buy it more for fashion rather than for the purpose of being a shoe head. 'Cause like compare it to fashion.. say you collected Gucci suits. Then all of a sudden everyone likes Gucci suits. Are you going to stop collecting that too.. Don't be so bothered by people. I think you just got this 'trendsetter' mentality which makes you wanna be the one and only [or one of the exclusives] to have a certain soemthing.

Thats not the point. I make the issue sound a bit 'over the wall' but its really deeper than it really is.
If you read my other responses, I state that GDFT and Da Zone is just doin' theyre thing. I mean yeah, without them, how are you suppose to get shoes in the first place right? Im not hating on them, I have a friend who works there! I respect what theyve done for the community and I continue to support them.
As for the customers, like I said, its one thing to just buy a shoe and get on with life, but its another to flaunt and think theyre the best and use the whole shoe thing as a TREND.
I was actually talking to one of my friends about this today. Whenever I see people with appealing shoes, vintage clothing, dry denim, high-end fashion wear, I stop and I give them some respect becuase some of that stuff is hard to attain, It is also very pricey. To me, its more of a hobby, witnessing what I normally dont see in real life is just something that gives me complete 'awe' and drive to achieve just as much as that person had. Thats the argument, trying to stay on top.
Im not mad at the people 'who just buy shoes'. For all I care, they can buy all the shoes you want. Just dont show me a fashion show, waiting to impress someone. And believe it or not, there are some people out there who TOTALLY agree with me.
I dont care waht people have to think, my whole mentality is deeper than most about 'urban' fashion, and that says something about me. AT LEAST I have soemthing to say about it, unlick those who dont know anything. And of course, to some its not that serious, but on a certain level of maturity in this area of 'hobby', it is serious.
People can tolerate Gucci suits because its only the price factor that stops them. Everyone and theyre grandparents know about Gucci. 'Nom De Gurre' is 'secret fashion' that isnt known to the mainstream, but once exposed, people whove been wearing NDG will get pissed off.
