If there's one thing I am going to do, once I get my driving license back, is make the time and effort to get out to new places. I used to love and still really miss all the places we used to go, but I've a real yearning to go re-visit some places I went to on holiday as a kid but also see more of the country I live in.

I've never been to London, I know I'll hate it, but I've never been there and that's pretty lame.
I've never cast a fishing line into the sea off the west coast (south Wales yes, but not with any seriousness).
I've actually seen a loch. Passed a couple of signs when we went to buy Gromit and Wile-E as pups, but we had a schedule and our minds were occupied each time with going to get a puppy.
Meh, I don't even have a passport, never had one! There's ferries from the Tyne over to Amsterdam, I've looked at the prices quite a few times and always said "yep, next year we'll get passports in the spring then go over in the early summer..." never happens.

Eating & spending as med's - well I've done both plenty of times, what really trashed me out was turning to drink. I wouldn't wish that addiction on my worst enemy. Once it takes hold it's a rapid spiral downwards and a bloody hard climb back up. It's also a shocking killer on the weight front, I still can't get over how quick I gained such a large amount of weight... or how long I know it's going to take to get it back off.
I'm just glad I've kicked the drinking and this time seem to have found something wake up inside me to see just why I don't want to go back to it.

Crikey, my reply's almost depressing isn't it? lol, sorry about that!

Oh that's alright, let it off your chest!

I didn't even realize you can get to Amsterdam from Tyne! If I knew I'd probably schedule one extra day and go, that sounds fun! Eh, next time I suppose.

I really hope everything works out for you. :)

lol :-)

Yeah, the usual ferry is an overnight thing, ends up being overnight on the way out with either a few hours there before returning to get back here in the late evening or a day to spend in Amsterdam and an overnighter again to return.

Nah, I'm all good now, I can't explain it but perhaps I just reached a point where something changed in me and said enough is enough. I like being more the old me again :-)
