I guess time goes by quickly, doesn't it? It doesn't really feel like it's been a year since I first arrived here. Maybe because I'm looking back on it, now... It's so strange. Oh, but it's a happy kind of strange! That so many months have gone by, and... [Uni falters slightly] I don't feel so sad about being far from home. I remember, a year ago today, I was scared. And... I was really sad, thinking about everyone I wouldn't see anymore. I still think about them, I do. But I don't think about them with worry or regret anymore.
I'm happy. I was able to meet all of my friends, here. And I can spend time with friends from home again. Maybe it's odd to say, but I don't think the City is a bad place. Because of the chances it gives.
[She stops again. The words fail her but the feelings are all there. Finally, Uni speaks.]
Thank you all so much. I'm grateful more than words can express.
