Looks like a massive shit fight over the coming weeks at work.   Basically  we've got too much work and have overbooked on the machines.  Running 24/7 on all 3 machines just to try and make a deadline for TV Week (some crappy CSI game this they are going to be distributing for free as far as I can tell).

I only recently discovered that I can get print seperations directly from with Acrobat Professional - even from Illustrator files (provided the "PDF Compatible" option was ticked when saving - which fortunately is on by default - it does add some overhead to the file size however).  Boy I wish I'd known the for alot longer than I have.  Generating ( Read more... )

Our domain name expired today. That was fun. Its one of those really difficult things to detected too since DNS information is cached. This means that even thought we hadn't paid our bill (that's why they "expired" our domain) and the hoster had turned it off, it can take a while for the rest of the internet to notice. Not a bad today actually - headed into the city in the morning for some remidial networking for New Level. Once again the wireless router there is stuffed and keeps randomly dropping the connection and you can't reconnect - stupid thing really. Pretty busy today - headed in the City and "deployed a desktop" as they say in the game. Its quite amazing how much cheaper the educational edition of Microsoft products are. eg MS Office XP Pro RRP $800 -> Educational Price $250. Just thought you'd like to know that.. heh ( Read more... )
