*...he's not exactly comfortable in the uniform. Oh, it fits fine, he can move perfectly well in it, it's even a little bit stylish. But the fact remains that this is a uniform for a SeeD, or at least somebody who wants to be a SeeD... along with everything that implies, although he doesn't much know what it implies yet, considering how little he

Walking along with no real destination in mind, she caught herself watching another cadet who she'd never seen before. With the way he looked so downright uncomfortable, it was easy to tell that this was one of those displaced, new Candidates she'd heard about. Hearing him talk in some language she didn't identify, it piqued her interest especially when he started to eat this really weird looking...thing. Tapping him on the shoulder, Rinoa offered him a bright smile as she watched him chew away at the strange things.]
Hi! I'm Rinoa, a cadet just like you! I've never seen anything quite like those, are you sure they're good to eat? If so, what are they?
[She gestured to the bag, dark eyes curious as she waited for an answer.]

These are... um. Gummy? *the word is the same in English, right? He thinks.*
...you can have some... They are... sweets.
*pausing for a moment, then giving a brief, quiet smile as he gestures toward himself*
I'm Tsukumo.

Oh! It's a type of candy? I guess that makes sense. Are they really good?
[The thought of trying candy from a different world was entirely too tempting and soon enough she held her hand out to him with a bright smile.]
Sure! I wouldn't mind trying one.
Tsukumo? Well it's nice to meet you then. [His name felt strange to say, but that wasn't nothing that a nickname couldn't cure if it came down to it.]

It's nice to meet you too... Um. *pausing to scratch his head a little with a slightly awkward look* Sorry, my English... to speak, is bad. *pointing at his mouth with a frown, then pointing to his ears* But... hear, is okay. I understand.
*he gives her a curious look then, pulling another candy from the package for himself*
...you come from-- this world?

But then, she supposes she has worse things to worry about than the length of her skirt. Like what on earth she's doing here, for example. The commencement ceremony would be postponed without her, perhaps indefinitely if she's discovered to be missing. Her siblings were reluctant to even the idea, and they would be far more committed to finding her than seeing through her cause. And Lelouch--
That's when she overhears someone speaking in Japanese, and curiously she glances over in that direction. ]
Ah, please pardon me for intruding, but-- [ She greets him in his native tongue, starting off a little more polite than she normally would to ( ... )

...You're not intruding. And... I am, actually?
*cocking his head at her a little curiously, voice soft-spoken* Your accent is quite good. I didn't expect to meet anyone else who spoke Japanese here.

Really, though. No amount of study prepares you for an entirely different country.
She smiles back at him, wondering if she should offer her hand only a moment before thinking, to heck with it. She only landed on Suzaku when they met. So she offers while pondering exactly what to say since he evidently doesn't recognize her. With this time compression thing, for all she knows he doesn't know her at all. Which. ...wouldn't be a bad thing, really. ]
Thank you. I've gotten more practice lately. I'm glad to hear it's helping.
My name is Euphemia, but please call me Euphie.

.....you must be new here too? *and he's definitely never seen her before, but he refrains from replying to anything she hasn't said out loud for the moment. Pausing briefly.*
...I was just wondering whether there are gummies here. I'll have to find out what kind of candy they've got in this world.
*holding out the package in silent offering*

That said, she could tell during the welcome ceremony that a lot of the people who were brought here aren't soldier material. She thinks she should try helping them adjust, at least until they find better prospects.
She's oddly taken out of her reverie when she hears someone nearby mutter something in a foreign tongue.]

Ah... ...hello?

Ah, greetings. Forgive my curiosity, but I am unfamiliar with your native tongue. I suppose you were spirited from another world as well?
[Given that Gwendolyn not only speaks English, but uses less modern words and has an unusual accent, this might be one of those cases where it's good to be psychic.]

...Japanese. I speak Japanese, and... I come from Earth. Do you know it?
*pausing to scratch his nose with a little frown; he can't help feeling like he's tripping over his grammar somewhere. Regardless, his voice, while accented itself, is soft-spoken and calm.*
Sorry, I have bad English... I think.

So there are other Japanese people here! That's great! Here I was, thinking I'd have to get all serious with my English.

.....well. You should probably still study, if we're going to be stuck here. But... it's definitely good to hear my own language.
I'm Murasame Tsukumo... *pause* Want a gummy?
((Hi! Just as a note, I'm stupidly behind the times and haven't been able to play P4, so I would be super grateful if we could avoid spoilers in any tagging we do. Thanks and sorry to be a pain D8))

[She takes one and chews it thoughtfully.]
This is pretty good! Where'd you get it?

Um, I had them with me... From home, I mean. Japan.
*brief, thoughtful blink* ....guess I should try to conserve some, since I don't know if they have them here... *he says as he's already popping another into his mouth.*

Ah... it's no big deal. Are you all right...?

The expression on Tsukumo's face doesn't change, nor does he say anything, but he goes a little pink as he shakes his head*
No, I'm fine, really... it's okay. You must have been in a hurry...?
