It was his way of alerting the others of his presence quietly. His hot butter raisin scones were popular back in Wayne Manor and they did have a distinctive taste and smell. [When Bart smells the irresistible scent of good food, he decides he has to investigate and find out where it's coming from. It doesn't take him long. He eagerly accepts the invitation to enter and moves to stand behind Alfred, looking over his shoulder at what's on the tray.]

"Hot buttered raisin scones, fresh from the oven." He holds it out encouraging Bart to take one and try it.

"Now they are rather hot..."

[bats tend to think with their stomach as much as they think with their heads, and when it comes to Alfred's cooking, well. The food here just doesn't compare at all.

So while Tim was in the cafeteria to get something to eat, as soon as he smelled something from home, he had to go to the back to check it out. And who does he see... this week was filled with ups and downs.]

He turns with the pan of fresh buns in his hand.

"Good to see you again, Master Tim." He replies smiling. Somehow, he knew they'd find him.

[First Dick, then Jason, and now Alfred. Tim grins, walking over. He'd give him a hug after he set the pan down.]

When did you get here? Have you been here long?

Alfred placed the pan on the stove.

"About fours house. I arrived early in the morning. How long have you been here, lad?"

[Sniffs the air as he walks past the cafeteria. That smell... There was no doubt about it. He had smelled it before. And not from the cafeteria before, either. Following his nose lead him to the kitchen and to Alfred. Pennyworth, of course. They were his... something or other. His food was all right. Just above edible, but better than the slop they usually serve.]

Pennyworth. Have you been here the entire time and failed to inform me?

People thought that but they weren't singing that tune when he almost quit. Still that was way before Damian's time.

"My apologies, Master Damian. How may I be of service to you today?" He asked rather cheerfully. It was Damian's way of missing him.

[Cid has to admit that the smell coming from the cafeteria--or rather, the kitchen, he soon discovers--is rather better than usual, and when he peers in, he finds an individual dressed far more formally than the norm as well.

[Typically speaking, at this point Cid would offer his hand for a handshake, but seeing as Alfred currently has his hands full, he merely dips his head in greeting.]

[Cid reaches over and carefully plucks a single scone off of the tray.]
