It's the Monday Update!!

Don left this morning for a job in Tennessee. Argh. Whatever, we'll survive. Luckily I'm still working at my fake job and have a huge project to keep me busy for the next three weeks while he's away. He's too far to come home on weekends so it looks like phone sex for me.

November 17th is the nail competition at the school. I've settled on a general theme and will tighten it up as we get closer to the deadline. My plan is to do an Under the Sea theme with my model dressed as a mermaid and her nails images of the sea. I'm starting on some miniature plants, coral and shells worked out of Fimo and will have to polish and assemble them at school. I'm also sketching out nautical henna designs for her arms. If it all works out Marna will be my model.... her arms stain the best and her hair is long and beautiful like a mermaid. She's been going over my sketches and I get all choked up whenever she gives me input. She is my artist other half... if that makes any sense.

Of course.... I'll post pictures. I hope to have some really nice ones for my portfolio. I'm just relieved I've settled on a theme now I can move forward.

I also got a sweet deal on a manicure table off of ebay. I've been watching for one posted on the bulletin board at school, in the paper, on Craiglist and ebay. This one came along on the same day I picked up an electric nail file for a steal!! I sniped it in the last 15 seconds of the auction. I'm really bad that way but for as many items as I've sniped I've been sniped back two fold. Anyway, my table is sweet, new it retails in the three to four hundred dollar range, I got it for under 200 with shipping. If I could do backflips... sista I'd be doin' them!!

My girls say they miss all my online friends. They said it's funny how my email indox seems so dead... hollow and empty. Marna said she's sad.... she misses my friends. I agree with her. Fortunately I'm close to the end of my schooling and should hopefully be able to spend a little more time after boards.

I've replaced my Harp, loom, knitting needles and spinning wheel with countless bottles of polish, acrylic powders, nail tips and a variety of buffers and files. It's hard for me to watch it all sitting there... but I kind of knew this would happen going into it. And since I need to build up my clientele asap to pay back my student loan it looks like everything is going to be sitting for a good amount of time.

At least I'm being honest with myself. *sigh*

anyone for a mani? pedi? set of acrylics or gels?? I'm your girl!!
