DO WE START A VICTORY PARTY, NOW?

Nov 04, 2008 20:34

Yesterday I spent about 30 minutes writing a good journal entry.  I then watched in amazement as it vanished!

You have been rescued from having to read some of my views of life in the fast lane.

I voted!   Did you?  What a gift the privilege to vote is.

The weather is just so lovely, warm sun, cool wind and trees have exploded into color.  The burning bushes make one want to look for Moses, they are bright red and reflect the gold color of the sun turning it into orange.

I love living in Missouri, have lived on both coasts, but always come home to Missouri.  And yes, here in St. Louis the weather can change by the hour.  Think about the challenges that brings.

I am watching the returns on NBC.  They are doing a good job.  Want to stay up, but am tired.

Took a vacation day to Vote !  The lines weren't long, but long enough for someone who was using a cane.  A very nice young man who was ahead of me in the hallway leading into the school gym, told me to go and sit down in one of the chairs closest to the door, and we would go into together.  I was impressed by the number of young people who were in the line.  White, Asian, and African American, some I know were voting for the first time.

Once again I am blessed to take part in History being made.  John  F. Kennedy was the first campaign that I worked for; his brother, Robert Kennedy, was my last one.  I have voted in every Presidential election, in fact in each time given the chance to vote, I took it!  School taxes, county supervisor, setting gambling limits for the boats...my vote does count.  AND SO DOES YOURS!

After voting I went to the local Social Security office and finished up what paperwork I needed to do in order to retire on 2/1/09.  There were only 3 people in the waiting room!  I had to wait a few minutes to speak with a rep and get everything done a change from the last 3 times I went and had to wait at least an hour, even if I had an appointment.  Always carry a book..

It is now locked in for sure...

Faxed the company paperwork on Monday afternoon.  It is real, I am going to retire.

Yea!

JiM, your soup recipe looks sooo good.   After the ENT visit on the 27th, I did what you advised and stopped at Kohn's.  Got chicken soup, with a matzo ball, it was rich and filling and it didn't hurt my throat.  Going to do that again.  The knish was my lunch next day,  also a great treat.  Closed the trip with a small block of sweet kugul.  Got any good recipes for sweet kugul?

Am hoping that Missouri will come through before I go to sleep in my recliner.

History in the making!

Love to you all.

The witch
