Random Monday Musings...

It's official. I'm not allowed to buy anything other than groceries and other necessities until the end of the month. I did another shopping spree today while I was in Tokyo. I ended up buying a ring, a necklace, and a bracelet. I'd been wanting for awhile to buy a gold ring to go with the gold necklace my parents bought me a few years ago. (I'm not really a gold person, so the rest of my jewelry is silver, but I really like rings, so I needed something to go with the necklace.) I find a nice, simple ring in Harajuku. I was also searching for a necklace as I left my jewelry at home since I'm not allowed to wear it for work and I've been wanting to wear jewelry when I go out on my own. I found a simple silver necklace with a small red stone on it. I normally don't wear bracelets, but I found a beautiful rose bracelet in which the roses were my favorite dark blue. I had to have it (and it was decently priced).

I also went to the Shinjuku Gyoen Garden as it was my goal to visit there in all four seasons. The random fact I learned today because of the garden is that roses in Japan bloom twice, both in summer and fall. The rose garden was amazing. I was so happy I ended up going there today. I stopped by the Harajuku English School to see if the teacher was there as I had told her I'd try to remember to stop by when I was in Tokyo, but she wasn't around. Oh, well.

Oh, other random facts learned today. Frosties from Wendy's in Japan, sadly, do not taste like the frosties in America. I can't quite explain the difference, but there was a strange aftertaste in the frostie I had today. However, the fries taste the same, and that made me happy.
