I have discovered another reason why I like rain. It prevents the stupid birds from squawking and waking me up. :D It's still raining, and that makes me happy, especially as today's a holiday, and I don't have to work at all. I will be spending all day at home reading manga and watching dramas. :D
A quick update on my entertainment. I'm currently on Episode 20 of Hong Gil Dong (which I might watch today). I'm on Season 2 Episode 19 of Bones, and I'm on Chapter 57 of my reread of Bleach (and I really need to finish the Soul Society arc before Tuesday...).
Oh, and I'm going to the movie theatre next Wedneday to watch the Kurosagi movie. I'm very excited. Yoriko-san is taking me to it (though I'm not sure she's going to watch it with me). *happy dance*
So, this week I've actually been spending time with people my age and really enjoying myself. The two boys are so much fun. I'm going to be sad when they leave on Saturday. Calene, the boys, and I went to the 100 yen sushi place on Monday. That's when I discovered that one of the boys is about as big a fan of manga. anime, and Asian dramas as I am. Calene's now realized how restrained I've been in sharing my Japanese pop culture interests with her, other than occasionally trying to convince her to watch a jdrama (thank you, MatsuJun and Gokusen--I will get her to watch Hana Yori Dango with me one day). Last night, the three of them came over to my place to watch movies and hang out, and that was a lot of fun. I can't remember the last time I've fangirled this much. While Calene and one of the boys watched Gokusen on my computer (as we couldn't get the internet to work on Calene's computer for some reason), I share my collection of dramas with the other guy, and we geeked out so much. I was laughing at myself for how much I was fangirling, and I know Calene was amused. The boy's envious that I'm going to see the Bleach musical. :) They ended up leaving close to midnight, which was fine with me since I have no obligations today, and I was able to sleep in until after 11am.
The boys' take on kdramas was funny. (Since they live in California, they have access to a tv channel that shows Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese dramas subbed.) "They're so depressing. Everyone has a terminal illness and are in love with their sister, and no matter how happy you might be when you start watching the drama, by the end, you want to find a dark corner and just curl up in a ball because you're so depressed." Obviously they hadn't been introduced to the lighthearted kdramas. :P
Oh, and the quote of the evening: "You're more Japanese than I am." (said by the boy who's a Japanese American) Hee. :)
