Tonight I have Chinese takeout and a Conchords marathon on HBO2. Whee! Unfortunately, I need to free up some space on the TiVo, so I had to delete about half the episodes. Sure, I have all the .avis and will buy the DVDs, but there's something quite marvelous about being able to push a button and immediately watch favorite clips on my TV. So, ( Read more... )

It's been marvelous. I'm now on Bret's dance in "The Third Conchord". JOY!

See, this is why I adore our fake-tivos hubby built - any avi we have goes on the server here, and we watch it from any tv :D

I wouldn't have the patience for that type of setup, but I've seen it before at friends' houses, and it's *great*. Fortunately, I do have that Philips DVD that plays the .avis, so at least I can see them on my TV. :)

I adore our setup, and am lucky for geekboy husband. On the mailing list devoted to this particular software, they have an acronym called "WAF", for "Wife Acceptance Feature". These are features they end up adding in because wives, girlfriends, and significant others requested them - like an equivalent of a season pass, or recording more than 1 program at a time, or the MP3 jukebox :D

Ooh, I know it's not BSG, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on Liz Lemon and her career vs. her biological clock! (if you feel inspired, of course) :D

It's funny -- I noticed a theme developing (big life changes) as I culled prompts. I wrote a short drabble about Roslin and "life without children", but I don't know if I'll post it. 30 Rock has done that more directly with Liz, and it could be really interesting to explore. Just not sure if I'm in a ficcish mood about the show. :)

It's one of my favorite things about the show, actually. 30 Rock fandom would certainly be lucky if you did ever feel ficcish about the show, but I completely understand! ;)

Are you still looking for cheap books? I've got some Goosebumps books I bought for my niece and then lost. Now she has grown past them, but I thought you might want them for your class. And I might still have some of my old books still packed away if you want them.
