Tonight I have Chinese takeout and a Conchords marathon on HBO2. Whee! Unfortunately, I need to free up some space on the TiVo, so I had to delete about half the episodes. Sure, I have all the .avis and will buy the DVDs, but there's something quite marvelous about being able to push a button and immediately watch favorite clips on my TV. So, here's what I chose to save:
-- "Sally" for "Robots" and because it's the pilot, even though it almost feels quaint now.
-- "Mugged" for "Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros".
-- "Bowie" for "Bret, You Got It Goin' On", the most delightfully slashy song ever.
-- "Drive-By" for "Mutha-Uckas" (Gonna pop an apple in his ass, yeah.)
-- "Girlfriends" for "Foux du Fa Fa" and "A Kiss Is Not a Contract". (BTW, if you love that, you must see this. Huh.)
-- "The Third Conchord" for Bret's whacked-out Footloose dance and "The Doggie Bounce".

I'm reading the NYTimes recent article about the best wines that retail for under $10. Great if you're into reds, which I'm not. I've never been a big drinker, and most wines taste far too acidic and wine-y for my tastes. But I love German white wines, especially gewurztraminer, perhaps because the sweetness takes the edge off the acidity. Fortunately, it's not all that posh, so I can get it quite cheaply. And I'm glad that Trader Joe's now has a decent gewurz for $4.99. :)
I've also been looking over the prompts for Bop's character study challenge. Funny, when she posted I'd mistakenly assumed it was for meta, but now I can only think of it in terms of fic. While I'm currently about 2/3 done with the next chapter of "Icarus", I'm in the mood for a few drabbles. I'll cut-tag the ones that have caught my eye, and I'm up for any related requests!
