asta77 had an excellent idea tonight: posting ten YouTube clips that make her happy. I am shamelessly snagging the idea. This will get tricky, though, because YouTube deleted my account -- not for all the BSG stuff, but because I had posted some clips of Crowded House at Live Earth. Ah, well. I don't really care, except I had quite a few faves saved on my account there, and I can't remember what they were.
So, this is isn't a definitive Top Ten, but here are a few
video clips that make me smile. And, as is my wont, I ended up with FAR more than ten!
First of all, I'm swiping this one directly from Asta's post. She found this clip of Jamie Bamber on Peak Practice, and I'm a little bit in love with it. Lee, who? THIS is the Jamie that gets me all hot 'n bothered. ;)

When they deleted my account, I lost the original that I'd uploaded. Fortunately, someone else posted the Publix Valentine's Day commercial. Yes, I've already waxed rhapsodic about how *lovely* this is, but it's still just so, SO darling.

Scrubs has been hit-and-miss for the past few seasons, but The Sacred Heart Air Band is one of the most awesome things ever. Here's the full version of them performing "More Than A Feeling". TURK!

I also LOVE this clip from the third episode of Scrubs, especially Dr. Wen bopping around to Erasure's "A Little Respect".

People have been posting the jail version of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" lately, but I prefer the Bollywood version.

This afternoon,
ahedonia posted "Minesweeper: The Movie". Hee!
Comedy Central has removed all Daily Show clips from YouTube, so I checked their website. I *love* Even Stevphen, the series of HILARIOUS mock-debates between Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell. This isn't my favorite ever, but it's the only one I could find online. It's especially fun given how far they've both come since those old TDS days. (Don't tell Comedy Central, but
here's a video compilation of classic "Even Stevphen" clips that aired on TDS last year. ;)
Their website also has my all-time favorite celebrity interview. When this first aired, hardly anyone knew who the heck John Hodgman is, and now he's super-duper-famous! I'd never heard his name before, but I started snickering at hobos "their boxcar-hopping, no-pants changing ways, and their brief attempt to take over the United States government"... and by the time he informed us that FDR's final solution against the hobos was polio, I was madly in love.
Yes, it only aired four days ago, but I've been watching this clip from Flight of the Conchords on a repeat-loop. If you ever suffered through those
"French in Action" instructional classes (Mireille!), then you'll love this.

I could do a whole separate post of scenes from Arrested Development, but I'll force myself to only choose two. First up, the instant classic: "Tobias Funke, Analrapist". And this clip is especially great for including the next scene with Maeby and George-Michael. His dialogue is *priceless*.

Back during S1, I tuned in to Arrested Development because I was bored one Sunday night. As luck would have it, it was the night they aired "Pier Pressure", widely regarded as perhaps the best ever episode -- and that's saying a lot. The moment George Sr. growled, "If someone had left a note, this innocent man would still have his arm!", I was HOOKED.

I could also spend all day linking to music videos, but I'll restrain myself once again. I was a huge Britpop girl back in the day (still am!), and here are two favorites, with
Pulp's "Babies" as a runner-up.
Who can possibly resist Milky from Blur's "Coffee+TV"? This is just plain delightful.

Supergrass's video for "Late in the Day" isn't necessarily funny, but the song is so lovely, and the shots of them pogo-ing brings me much joy. :)

Whew! I think that's quite enough for one evening, yes?
