Vampire baby!

Apr 03, 2007 23:24

I have a baby on my shoulder! Three weeks old. Wow, time flies. He's just perched up there, slobbering on my neck. Yes, my nephew is a vampire.

Time for some links.

-- This LA Times article about Starbuck and BSG made me giggle. Stupid writers. Poor Katee! (Spoilers for 3.20.)

ETA: Since the LA Times is registration-only, ( here's the full text of the article. )

I've always been more ambivalent about Austen than my friends (I was into the mid/late Victorians), but it's still ridiculous. I can objectively understand the marketing angle of wanting a different portrait than the same old ones that have been used hundreds of times, but why "pretty" her up? *sigh*

Hee, I linked to that same LA Times article at almost exactly the same time. Link jinx! :) The lengths they went to to cover up her "return from the dead" totally cracks me up because most of the people who watched probably assumed she wasn't really dead anyway, am I right? I mean, it's a major character "death" and we've all watched television before, so I think most were calling foul from the start!

Pretty mean what they'll pulled on the crew though, and how Katee couldn't even tell her dad. :(

Oh, yes. Hey, Ron? Never underestimate how jaded the audience has become. ;) I feel a teensy bit better that this decision wasn't as spur-of-the-moment as they've led us to believe, but still! Morons.

Though yeah, I did giggle at Katee not telling her dad because he'd "blab it all over his e-mail list." I'm just as bad. If we were close friends, I still probably would've had a hard time keeping the secret. ;)

Hmmm... that definitely adds to the "We're cleverer than you" complex TPTB seem to have over BSG. I notice the one thing they haven't acknowledged is that they really pissed off a lot of fans with the constant "we're going to kill someone you care about" schtick that was running from right after the first spoilers about someone dying in Exodus II came out... and they haven't admitted openly that the spoilers really did get out before the finale. Entertaining article, though :) I couldn't help laughing at Katee's admission she was hung over. What's the line? "I always tell my men to drink scotch, not vodka... so that the bosses will know they're drunk and not just stupid."

They do seem to have a bad case of hubris, don't they? I'd thought that maybe their reliance on the SciFi boards was just giving them a skewed perception of fan opinions, but then RDM apparently said in the "frak party" podcast that he reads other boards including TWOP. So maybe they are just delusional. Fools!

But yeah, the Katee quotes made me laugh. Seems like she'd be quite a lot of fun to chat with over a bottle of wine. ;)

That BSG article was pretty funny regarding the extremem lengths they went to. Especially since many people (me included) just assumed she'd be coming back eventually.

Keith Richards, just when I think you can't get more insane.

Is it frightening that our pull list is pretty similiar to Scott Porter's?
