Last night, I finished knitting what is, quite possibly, the most beautiful scarf ever!
It's a kettle-dyed Uruguayan wool, and I used
this pattern. Perfect for autumn, no?
My friend G. is the 8th grade ESOL teacher. This week she showed her students -- who need lower-level materials as they learn English -- a version of Jane Eyre as a graphic novel. The kids *loved* it; they said it was just like a telenovela. Oh, but it gets better! She had them work in groups to create movie brochures for a new version of Bronte's novel. When she showed them to me, I begged her to let me borrow the projects so I could post them to LJ. One group cast Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, and the other group cast J.Lo and Marc Anthony.
You can see the projects here. (Click on the previews for the full-sized versions.) And hey, the illustrations aren't too shabby. I have GOT to do that with my classes!
I love wacky polls. I love writing silly captions for screencaps. So, tonight I decided to combine the two and create a poll: Write captions for the following "Torn" promo pics. Spoilerish for Friday's BSG episode, natch.
Oh, and hi-res versions can be found
here, courtesy of
drewcypher!
Poll The "Torn" preview poll ETA: Ugh, LJ won't let me edit polls to fix typos. Such is life.
