1. Only 36 hours until I get to buy the Veronica Mars and Arrested Development DVDs! Yes, it's Holy Tuesday in Alannaland. A tip for those who want to get one or both: Target has VM for $40 and AD for $28... but if you take the Target ad to Circuit City, they have a Price Match Guarantee that will get you both for Target's price, along with an ( Read more... )

The later episode was "Mars vs. Mars."

I really liked the commentary. And Adam and Eddie's episode airs this week!

Where did you look for ticket prices to India? If you go through Indian travel agents, you can get better deals than mainstream sites. Just don't (and I mean DON'T) travel via aeroflot.

Alas, the problem is that even if we go through a cheaper travel agent, airfare for all of us would still be tons more than we can possibly afford right now. *sigh*

Hee! I've already crocheted nearly 18" so far tonight -- I'm on a roll, baby. And omigod, I chose the BEST yarn (even though I'm going to have to buy more, and it's too damned expensive. ;) It's super-soft and absolutely gorgeous. Might just make myself one, too!

6. Filling up my teensy little Hyundai Elantra today cost $42 (and no snarking about how gas prices are higher elsewhere, okay?) When I called my parents, Dad told me to stop driving so much. Hmph. I drive tons; I just don't go very far. In the two years since I bought it, I've racked up a grand total of 14,000 miles. My six-mile daily commute certainly helps.

Actually, 14,000 miles in two years is way under the average of 10,000 miles a year. (Or was it 12,000? This was a fun fact I learned about 6 years ago when I was looking into buying a used car.) Not that it's making gas any cheaper. I never thought it would cost $30 to fill my 12 gallon Saturn either.

Exactly! It's funny -- when I first moved here, I was driving 40 miles daily to/from work, and I put almost 20K miles on my car in one year. Since I wised up and moved close to work, I'm now averaging less than 8,000 miles annually. ;) Dad was teasing about me driving too much, and hey, I'll definitely get my money's worth out of that Hyundai warranty.

Sounds like your gas is cheaper -- I'm jealous. We're currently up to $3.07/gallon.... which is still cheap compared to many, but given how much MORE Atlantans drive than most everyone else, it's really hitting us hard.

Up in Fairbanks we're at about $2.78 a gallon and slowly creeping upward. I'm assuming because there's oil up here that is why we're a bit below normal.
