Life's little annoyances
1. Panera gave me a whole wheat baguette with my soup. I know it's healthier, but ugh.
2. Speaking of fast casual... I've only been to Chipotle once, years ago, and didn't like their burritos. This weekend I decided to give 'em another chance. I've pulled into the parking lot twice -- and the queue has been nearly out the door both times. Screw that. I'll stick with Willy's, a local burrito chain which is much better and closer to my place.
3. My next sweater project is another Mythos, since I *love* the first one. I got three skeins of Tosh Sock in "Mansfield Garden Party". They looked identical in the skein, but when I wound them up, one was VERY different from the other two. I managed to work out a way to hide the differences, but it's still ridiculous. Then again, I should've expected as much with madelinetosh and their very poor quality control.
4. I'm apparently getting old, because I now have hip joint pain that's disturbingly similar to sciatica. Yay. My awesome friend Mia has tried to use her mad chiro skillz to help out, but it looks like I have to keep stretching and wait it out.
5. Oscars next weekend! I wish there weren't a growing backlash against The Artist, because I still love the heck out of that movie.
6. I'm dismayed but unsurprised by the commenters on this Gawker post who are excusing the journalist who came up with the "Chink in the Armor" headline. Ugh. If the writer's smart enough to work for ESPN, s/he has to know that's a racist epithet. (On the plus side, right now I'm finally getting to watch Linsanity live on ABC!)
