Funny how I never have time to be sick but somehow manage it... :-(

Managed to get under the weather on Sunday night/Monday morning. Just a passing thing, but annoying all the same. I've missed two days of work that I'll probably have to make up this weekend. :-(

I splurged on some Justice League and Justice League Unlimited DVDs over the weekend. I haven't really wanted to do a lot the last couple of days so I've watched some of the episodes. I didn't realize how many I hadn't fully appreciated because I had only seen part of them or (more commonly) I missed their significance in one of the longer story arcs because I viewed them out of order. I have to admit, JL and JLU tackled some pretty heavy stuff. The characters and plot lines have more depth and gray areas than your average kiddy cartoon show. It's sort of like Avatar the Last Airbender in that regard. I've enjoyed watching the story unfold and seeing the characters change and mature in that one, too.

Other than that, it's been quiet here. Glasses are still working, but I wear them better at work than at home. I guess at home I always think, "Oh, I'll just be on a little while." Put on glasses when on the computer hasn't become habitual all the time yet. Stupid, I know, but I'm learning.

Speaking of learning, I actually worked on Realizations. Partially because it's been so long and partially because the original 35's premise was flawed, I just started a new version. The temptation is still strong to try and recycle bits of the old chapter files, but I'm trying to resist. Most of the pieces I'd like to include don't really add a lot, so I guess its true what they say about "murdering your darlings." ;-)

If I ever do the fanfic thing again, I will only start posting once the story is done, or perhaps stick to smaller projects like cookies or "fics" with standalone chapters like dzeytoun's Daddy's Favorite or Giving Notice by Quoth the Raven. There are good things about a serial story, but because of the way things tend to occur to me as I'm writing, I don't think it's the best style for me. I'd like to have the option of changing a section if I mess up or a better solution presents itself.
