I say dig deep and find your inner bridezilla...she's gotta be lurking in there somewhere. This is your wedding...things should be the way you want them dammit! LOL, I think everybody needs to release their inner gangsta bitch every now and then. ;)
you should get what you want. I am surprised they did not have you try it on in front of them and then try to sell alterations.
But alterations are always extra. So, since you don't trust their work, ask around to people you know and have them refer a good tailor/seamstress.. that sucks!
I had my mother-in-law alter my dress and we did like 5 or 6 fittings before the wedding.. plus I kept losing weight with all the stress! she did an absolutely marvelous job too..
yeah, DAvid's mom is a great seamstress and we were originally going to have her MAKE the dress, but she lives in New Mexico and thought it would be easier for me to find someone nearby so I could do fittings, etc.
