Journey's End and my not-so-reactiony post.
I did a running commentary while watching the ep, but I'm not sure how much I want to post it (partially because it's uber long and partially because my initial reaction to this ep was that of a total fanbitch). I'm considering going through it 'n cleaning it up a bit, maybe forming it into a reaction post, but I dunno.
I'm having issues with the ep, so I'm definitely gonna be ficcing things to deal with 'em. What it comes down to for me is that yes, I did like the ep. No, I did not like the ep. It was love/hate for me, because while there were parts I loved there were also parts that I think could have been done monumentally better. There are bits that I felt weakened certain characters, there are bits that confirmed suspicions on certain characters that I did not like (Sku, you know who I'm talking about), there are bits that I thought were brilliant and couldn't've been better, there were bits where I thought the CGI department might want to kill Rusty, and there were bits I was just ok with.
I did my commentary while watching the ep - like I said, running commentary. But I think I'm gonna watch it again straight-through before I do anything with my reaction post, now that I've let myself get a bit less fanbitchy and bit more ok with Human!Doc (well, at least I've stopped calling him "Bastard", right?). I'm still not entirely ok with him, but I'm a bit more accepting.
That being said: hindsight (and taking the show itself into consideration), it was a good move on Rusty's part. I honestly thought they'd just go their separate ways at the end, so Rose getting a piece of her Doctor is a nice touch. I have more to say on that (including why I don't like it - like I said, love/hate), but I'll refrain until I do my rewatched reaction bit.
And that being said: ho'shiz, if I thought "Better As A Memory" was a total DRose song before, it definitely is now. <3
Though I will say this, just 'cause...yeah. The Supreme Dalek, SO! in my book, is my favorite and I was upset when he died. =C In my head, he had a bad case of capsitus and ended every sentence with "BITCH!" (I.e.: Team TARDIS going out to face 'em and SO! shouting: "BEHOLD US, BITCHES!", the TARDIS 'dying' and SO! going "YOU ARE CONNECTED - NOW FEEL ITS PAIN, BITCH!", etc. Someone please tell me I'm not the only one who totally heard all that. xD Then again, I was also half-expecting Ten to call Davros the Daleks' bitch instead of their 'pet', but then again that wouldn't be Saturday night family TV, would it? xD)
