Sonic Screwdrivers: Ward off Locks, Aliens, and Captain Jacks with the Press of a Button!
Ok, I'm admitting right now I'm a great big ol' dork. If you know me you already knew this. Partial proof? My cats are named Anya and Xander (guess after who), and our newest cat? The baby? Captain Jack.
Now, my mum (when I first fought for the name) thought I wanted it for Captain Jack Sparrow. But I meant Harkness, 'cause honestly. She made kissy noises at him the first day we got him 'n he went nuts (in a good way), so it seemed obvious. (She gets it now, but that's besides the point.)
ANYWAY. Further proof? I ordered one of those sonic screwdriver pen toys last weekend. It came in today (AND AKU - with the psychic paper wallet! xD), 'n I've been in geek-out mode since lunch. Part of the geek-out mode has included sonicing the cats. Xander and Anya were cool about it; Xander just looked at me, 'n Anya started sniffing it.
Captain Jack? Freaked. xD
I laughed so hard, 'cause of who I named him for. I pressed the button for the noises/lights, held it at him, 'n he flipped. Literally - backflipped 'n before his feet were back on the floor he started running to the other side of the house. I've been having a blast tormenting this cat with it ('cause seriously, this cat is scared of everything - we've never beat him, but by how he acts when we go around him you'd think we do - PAUL EYNKA (or however you spell it). Lorelai's dog? YEAH. He's like him!), 'n honestly. Not even ten minutes ago I pulled it out, 'n as soon as he saw it he leapt off the top of their cat tower 'n (again) fled to the other side of the house. (To get how major that was: he never leaps from the top of that thing. He always hops to the middle level, then the side table next to it, then the floor - he's scared to jump straight down.)
I shouldn't be as amused by this as I am. I know it proves I'm a mean person. But...it's just too funny. My kittenafied Captain Jack Harkness is terrified of the sonic screwdriver. xD (Oh Fod, I can't wait for Who Friday - I wonder if he's gonna start freaking when the Doctor pulls it out? xD)
Computer Status: Still wonky. S'not letting me into my files, but I have what I had of the next part of GwtM printed out, so I'm prob'ly gonna type it up on Mum's laptop, finish it there, then post. May just have to. Dx
