The vendor has rolled over and kicked their legs in the air; they are going to carry out all of the essential work to the house, provide documented guaruntees on the work and then pay for half of the re-survey costs in order to satisfy our paranoia.

That's good to hear. Unfortunately I don't have a spare sofa however.

Donr do bean bags. They are more expensive than they are worth and then when you get a sofa you realise you have nowhere to put the bloody things.

Plus some of us are old and once in one may never get out.

Also I discovered at Alex's house that beanbags do not only eat the old, but also the infirm or the lazy. One moderately peaky cold, or soppy film, and you may never be able to climb out of one!
