Having borrowed my brother's friend's copy of the PS2 YGO game Duelists of the Roses, I set out, as I always do, to beat the living daylights out of the game as fast as possible. Beating the daylights out of a game, or whatever other expression one wishes to use, means to not only beat the game, but to demolish it

The setting is the Wars of the Roses--history class, you know. Red Rose (Henry Tudor) vs. White Rose (Richard III) for the crown. Yugi plays the part of Henry Tudor; Seto is the leader of Richard's Rose Crusaders. The player is the legendary "Rose Duelist" magically summoned from the future by Simon the druid to fight for Yugi--but Seto appears on the scene and offers the Rose Duelist a place on his side of the war. He makes the point that the Rose Crusaders are winning the war so it'd be smarter to duel for him than for Yugi.
If you opt to fight for Yugi, Seto allows you passage to see him, saying it would hardly be sporting to end it here. Yugi requests your services in eliminating the Rose Crusaders and taking out the barrier their Rose Cards are generating so that he and his army can invade England and take the crown.
Your opponents on Yugi's side: Weevil, Rex, Bones, Panik, Keith, Pegasus, Paradox, Ishizu, Richard III, Seto, Card Guardian (I can never remember his ridiculously long name).
If you join Seto, he gives Simon an unceremonious push off the screen and tells you that if you want to get back to your own time, you have to get the Red Rose Cards from Yugi's elite duelists, then sends you on your way.
Your opponents on Yugi's side: Tea, Tristan, Mai, Mako, Joey, Shadi, Grandpa Muto, Bakura, Yugi, and the Card Guardian.
Once you beat the game on both sides you enter a kind of freestyle mode where you can challenge whoever, whenever.
It's really quite fun.
But I do have an idea for a Yu-Gi-Oh game I'd like to see... it's a fanfic I'm planning... I'm not sure if I'll actually get around to writing it, at this rate...
