Happy 4th to all!

My day's been alright so far. Some of my mom's friends and I took her out to Lake Las Vegas this morning for brunch and just chilled. I didn't even notice that there's a man-made waterfall over there... Haha, how typical of Vegas -- some more artificial scenery that would otherwise totally not exist here. Well, I guess if there aren't any, people could always build their own pyramids, castles, Eiffel tower, waterfalls, etc... even all of them in one place. Earlier tonight, I went to a BBQ gathering thing with some friends and it was nice. It sucked that I couldn't stay for very long since my family decided we'd all go out for dinner for my mom's birthday. It was fun though for the little time I was there... I think we should hang out more over each others places and chill like that. Haha, I watched a bit of "Tron" while I was over there... Yeah, that was somethin' alright... It was defitnitely cheesy yet amusing to watch. It was made back in the early 80s and it's like "high-tech"/animated kinda thing (for back then) that deals with computer programs and having to fight against what would probably be like a 'computer virus' nowadays. Haha, it's just so damn cheesy, it's funny! It's so obvious that the actors had to use a green screen and half of it looked like it was some animated cartoon rather than some super duper hi-tech movie! But I only saw the ending and I don't think I could really take much more than that! Sooo... what else, oh yeah. Boy did that Russian gal Sharapova *slaughter* Serena Williams at Wimbleton or what?!? Ouch! That's gotta be embarrassing... I saw their match yesterday and Sharapova defitnitely gave Serena a beating. She totally made Serena run all over the court and she actually slipped a few times on the grass! I think Serena has finally found her match... Maria is just as tall and surprisingly, has just as amazing shots as Serena does (did ya see those corner shots and lobbs?!). But ay, some of most intense tennis moments I've ever seen. And today! Ugh! I didn't get to see much of the men's finals but dang, Federer beat Roddick. I wish I could'be seen more of their match since I bet that was pretty amazing too. Oh! Yesterday, I saw got some new glasses! :) Yeah... I think I'm supposed to be wearing glasses but I never really do. I can see fine but I can't really see small writing at a distance. Hehe, I love my glasses, they're so chic... so nerdy-cool! I wanted the kind that screamed "I'm smart/nerdy and damn proud of it baby!!" Lol! So I got the kind that was rectangular shaped and kinda chunky (think Ted's glasses from Queer Eye). And I knew I found the right pair when not only I thought they were chic but also before I even told a salesperson what look I was aiming for, the first word to come out of her mouth was "chic" as well. Oh yes... it was a beautiful moment... And talk about an icing on the cake, guess what the color of the frames are?? Purple, uh huh! But not like bright purple or anything, more like a dark purple/violet ones and depending on the angle it can look either violet / black. Although, I swear I did not go into Lenscrafters looking for purple glasses -- honest! They just happened to have some... that also were nerdy-cool looking... and found my lovely pair of glasses! Haha, they're hot! ;) But I gotta tell ya, GEEZ, it was *such* a pain-in-the-butt looking for the one I wanted! Good lord, I've talked about my indecisive nature and to put me in front of hundreds of glasses for me to choose just one... I think I almost hyperventilated, it's damn near mental torture ! Thank goodness I knew before going in there that I wanted kinda chunky, rectangular-shaped ones. That really helped me cut down on the other shapes and styles. I don't know if I'm just not used to seeing, er, clearly but everytime I wear my glasses I feel like I can see the pores on peoples' faces and I get a sharp pain in my mind... I guess, whenever I wear the glasses, my left eye gets like a shock or something that for once, it's not actually doing the "seeing" for both of my eyes. Eh... And went to see Farenheit 9/11 the other day with some friends... yes, I can't really believe it either that I actually spent good money towards anything related to Michael Moore ::shudders:: ... Blame it on me wanting to get out and do stuff not academically-related. The week before, it was Dodgeball (freakin' *hilarious*! "dodgeball is a sport of violence, exclusion, and degradation!" Lol! and "Here at Globo Gym, we're better than you, and we know it!") and this week was this movie...For what it was, it was alright. It was nice though that he included lots of actual media footage, documents, interviews, etc. in it. He wasn't entirely off his rocker like he was on Bowling for Columbine and I was gonna go into a whole schpiel on the movie, but I don't feel up to it right now. But seriously, okay, so Bush sucks.... but it's not like Kerry's any better! Hell, this year's election is obviously a one-man race! People are gonna have a vote for Bush or an anti-vote for Bush by voting Kerry. I can't believe the Democrats can't get a better candidate than Kerry! How the hell they get stuck with him, I don't know but it was a rather bad move. Voting for Kerry is like voting blind, since you don't know what issues/policies your voting for 'cause Kerry's having a hard time with deciding as well. He vascillates too much. And poor guy, my man Nadar's done already... Didn't get the Green Party backing, so he's as good as done now. But he's had a tough time anyway since our political system practically discourages third-party candidates -- it's sad... Okay, well I'm done with my rant on politics before I cause anymore trouble here by stating my opinions on the matter. Anyhoo, Happy Birthday to America!
