Tonight's Daily Show (Lieberman lost!)
Wow. Such good news tonight, discovered while watching Jon Stewart just three hours ago. Lieberman has lost the Democratic primary for his old Senate seat, though he will run as an independent. I, for one, see this as a herald of his imminent departure. Lieberman: you suck, your stance on media sucks, and your sycophantic support of the Iraq war sucks. Kindly depart from politics forever.
Also on the Daily Show was one of the best movie promotion interviews I've ever seen. Samuel Jackson stopped by. Not only did he promote Snakes on a Plane, but Jackson and Stewart actually launched into a gleeful discussion of the movie that sounded like a couple of internet fans talking about it instead. They showed an amazing amount of enthusiasm, and none of it seemed fake. As a bonus, the teaser clip was none other than the now-famous, fan-contributed line from the movie about getting those motherf*cking snakes off that motherf*cking plane (obviously, it was bleeped out). I'm sure that this appearance can only boost anticipation, and with the movie coming out on Friday, it's timed well.
