Picture time!
So, on Monday i get up and put the dogs out but then i notice movement in the patio. I'm dumbstruck by the sight of a long, skinny snake who apparently got lost on his way to eat some babies. I've lived here about 13 years. I used to play and wander in the woods all the time when i was younger. I swear to you that i have never encountered a snake in the neighborhood before now. I thought maybe the bunny rabbits around here were too gangsta to tolerate them.
I watched the snake immediately get confused by the concrete, the walls, and fake plants. Then i watched it almost shit itself when Amani (small animal catcher extraordinaire) barked, and it's lucky Amani didn't notice it or it'd have been eaten. I'm lucky my chihuahua Paco didn't notice it cuz, ya know, he's scared of flies so i imagine a snake would mean doggy therapy. It eventually found its way out, came in to make sure it didn't drop its keys and left again, before i shut the patio door. Hope the bunny mafia didn't spot the little guy.
I'm thinking garden snake? I don't know many snake types besides rat snakes and i don't think this is one. It's a Black Racer, o-ho.
Also, here's a picture of a Lady Bug i found first on the kitchen ceiling then on the refrigerator a couple months ago. I don't know what good luck it brought but it made me smile anyway.
And for fun, here's Paco in one of his favorite napping places--my pillowcase.
